Looking for something fresh and exciting to do with mom on Mother’s Day in Nashville, TN? Show mom how much you appreciate her by taking her to some of these great happenings Mother’s Day weekend in and around Music City USA.
Does Mom adore flowers? Of course, mom always loves to receive flowers any time of the year, but why not take her somewhere she can share her passion with others this year at the Twin State Iris Societies Iris Show? Watch as competitive growers compete for the top awards in assorted categories centered around our state flower, the beautiful, delicate Iris. The show will be held at Walter J. Baird Middle School, located at 509 Coles Ferry Pike in Lebanon, TN. The event runs from 7 to 10 am Saturday, May 8th. Afterwards, take her for a picnic lunch at nearby Percy Priest Lake and Park, or a relaxing stroll through the lush indoor gardens of the world famous Opryland Hotel. Enjoy the beautiful scenery while cruising down the indoor river on the Delta flatbed while sipping on a delicious jubilee. The hotel is located at 2800 Opryland Drive in Nashville, Tn. and is well known as a popular hot spot for country music celebrity sightings.
Is Mom an avid music lover? There are tons of great musical events happening throughout Mother’s Day weekend to enjoy. Arrington Vineyards and Winery presents its annual Music in the Vines outdoors concert Friday May 7th from 5 to 9 pm. Pack a picnic lunch and bring a blanket, indulge in taste testing some of the finest wines in the state while relaxing in the beautiful countryside scenery of the vineyards while enjoying a variety of music presented by local musical talents. The vineyard is located at 6211 Patton Road in nearby Arrington, Tn. Mom’s that love country music will enjoy a trip to Opry Mills PCG Country Showcase, where fresh and new country artists showcase their songs for a live audience. Meet and greet the artists and some of the top music industry professionals as they sit in and give feedback to up and coming stars. The event is held at Opry Mills, located at 433 Opry Mills Drive in Nashville, TN. on Sunday May 9th. Show starts at 3:30 pm. Perhaps Mom is an arts and crafts enthusiast? She will surely enjoy an outing to the Annual TCA Arts and Crafts fair being held Mother’s Day weekend at Centennial Park, located at 2598 West End Avenue in Nashville, TN. The fair will feature hundreds of local and nationally known crafters vending their wares. Special workshops will be held throughout the event showcasing how some of these fabulous hand made works are created. There will also be food vendors, kids activities, special demonstrations and exhibits throughout the event. Don’t miss out on this chance to collect fabulous handmade art works from around the country.
Maybe Mom is a hopeless romantic. Take her on a trip through time back to the day’s of knights in shining armor with a visit to the Tennessee Renaissance Fair being held Mother’s Day weekend at 2124 New Castle Road in Arrington, TN. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the 16th century as it comes to life with vendors dressed in the style of the times, displaying authentic wares, foods and more. Play the games that were popular during the fairs of the Renaissance time, special displays will include demonstrations of handmade items such as candles, clothing, pottery and jewelry.
