A tattoo is basically a wound deep in your skin and it is stuffed with ink. To get started, you need to become brave enough to bear the pain caused by the piercing of a needle. They are so long lived because the ink is injected into the dermis, the layer of your skin which is very deep and here the cells are stable which makes the tattoo permanent.

Getting a tattoo is full of bewilderment and an experience which is absolutely unforgettable. Having a tattoo pierced on your body does not only require time, but also a lot of patience and the ability of bearing pain. A tattoo is a body art which gives you a feeling of pride and makes you stand out but it only going to be feasible if a it taken care of properly.

Here are some ways of taking care of your tattoo to make them last for as long as you live:

-Be patient with the bandage:

Your tattoo has been covered for a reason-in order to protect it from the germs and toxins in the air. Do not forget that your tattoo is still a wound and requires a whole lot of attention and care from you. Therefore, you should not get hasty about getting rid of your bandage and leave it where it is for at least two hours after getting yourself tattooed. Lower down the level of your excitement and ask your friends to wait for a while.

-Wash:

After you take off your bandage, wash your tattooed area with warm water and a gentle soap. Do not be harsh and rinse off the area lightly to make it get rid of any impurities. Instead of using a towel or paper napkin, just pat it off with your hand first and then use a towel to completely dry it out. This should be followed by the application of an ointment of your choice.

- Shower:

Do not take your new tattoo as excuse of getting away from your daily baths. You should shower, there is no harm in getting your moist. If your tattoo gets in contact with the soap or shampoo, just rinse it off carefully and quickly with water. Remember not to swim for a minimum two weeks as it can be harmful for the wound.

-Keep it away from the sun:

The ultra violet rays of the sun are capable of ruining your tattoo and fading it off so avoid the sun at all costs. If you think you will have a lot of exposure to sun, at times, then do not forget to wear a sun block over it.
