Global warming is a non-problem. We don’t have to worry about global warming, therefore it is not of serious concern to mankind.
There is no shortage of real problems that confront us. We should be concentrating our efforts on the real problems instead of wasting our resources and research funds on the futile idea of “stopping global warming” or “stopping climate change” all of which is eco-religious nonsense. For starters we could provide clean drinking water for everybody in the world and try eliminate poverty.... but returning to global warming.
Global warming is a good thing. It happens every day when the sun rises above the horizon. I like it and so do all human beings if they have to choose between being very cold or comfortably warm. Fortunately our globe, or planet Earth, provides a wide range of climates for us to live in, broadly classified as cold, temperate and tropical. Human beings prefer by far to live in the temperate and tropical regions of the Earth and shun the colder regions. Plants and forests have this same preference.
To discuss global warming we have to define what we mean by the term as it is used today. Is it possible to measure global warming? Is the concept of a global temperature real or imaginary?
I have a thermometer in my patio garden which tells me the outdoor (shade) temperature at one spot any time of the day or night. At the present time the daily maximum and minimum temperatures are 23 and 7 degrees C , a difference of 16 º, which is typical of a temperate region of the planet (April, Adelaide, South Australia). In summer time (Jan) it is common here to have daily temperature range from 40 to 20 degrees with a 20º difference between day and night, since Adelaide has a Mediterranean climate.
So, how do we calculate the yearly average temperature of this one spot (Adelaide) on the globe when daily temperatures range so widely, and on a yearly basis, maximum and minimum temperatures recorded may be 43 and 3 degrees C for any year?
The problem is compounded by the variable “temperature” being an “intensive” property as compared to “weight” which is an “extensive”
