Mr. Gorcyca was apparently not around (or not paying attention) when millions of Americans were 'clamoring' for President Clinton to be impeached. He would have us believe it is because of his affair with Miss Lewinski.
Not true.
If one recalls, the reason we were screaming for Slick Willie's head was his PERJURY! I and many other folks with properly functioning brains could not have cared less about Willy's extramarital affairs. Being married to Hillary, I'd probably have strayed, too. It was the perjury that had us up in arms, not the cheating.
Yes, kiddies, that's right - The President of the United States committed perjury, and GOT AWAY WITH IT! How? Lots and lots of legal mumbo-jumbo, misdirection, and a spineless Senate. I watched the hearings; the debates; the trial. Had I been a juror good ol' Billy Boy would be doing time - HARD time.
Recall, also, that we were involved in couple little 'hot spots' during Slick Willy's tenure; the Balkans and Somalia. How did our little tyke from Arkansas handle the reins of CinC? Not well. In fact, our troops had their helmets handed to them and their heads were still in them. Remember 'Blackhawk Down'? Yes, now you're getting the picture.
Should we be in Iraq? Depends on who you ask. We've never been very good at installing governments anywhere (Panama and Nicaragua come to mind), so why are we trying our hand at 'state building'? Personally I belive it to be doomed, considering the rich history of the region. Time will tell.
While it is true our presence in Iraq is questionable, at least we are doing some better with 'Dubya' than with 'The Oily One'.
