I love scented body lotions. Each season, I stock up on several different scents and brands so I can pick and choose each day depending on my mood and the weather. I recently went on an Avon shopping spree and picked up old favorites and new discoveries. One of the items I purchased was a bottle of Mark Self Sanctuary Moisture Milk in Violet Berry.

It comes in a 6.7 fl. oz. cylinder bottle, very compact and fits nicely among my beauty products. This lotion is regularly priced at $6.00 but on I purchased it on sale for $2.99 from the Avon online store. Violet Berry Moisture Milk is a mixture of mandarin, violet, and black currant. To me, it smells like blackberries mixed with violets. It’s very light and fresh. A perfect lotion for spring and summer. It’s not a heavy cream and it doesn‘t leave my skin greasy, so it’s ideal as a daytime moisturizer.

If I put it on before bed, I can still smell it in the morning when I wake up. It’s very uplifting and refreshing without being overpowering. It’s also distinctly feminine and great for women of all ages. For me, this fruity floral lotion is a keeper.

There’s only two things I don’t like about this lotion. The first is that it contains methylparaben, which is an ingredient that I try to stay away from as much as I can. The second is that when I put it all over my body after a shower, it leaves my skin feeling sticky for a few minutes. The stickiness fades after a little while, though, so it’s not too bothersome.

Since this is a light moisturizer, I would recommend this lotion for someone who has normal to oily skin. If you have very dry skin, it may not provide enough moisture for you. In connection, I would not recommend this on areas that tend to get rough or dry, such as the elbows, knees, or feet. Those areas require heavier creams that are more suitable for dry skin.

Mark Self Sanctuary Moisture Milk in Violet Berry has a great scent for spring and summer at a decent price. Additionally, it’s a good, light moisturizer with good staying power. On the other hand, it contains a lot of chemicals and is not organic or natural, so if that bothers you, you may want to search for something else.
