Many Facebook members find they quickly amass a large list of friends on this social network. It is not an uncommon occurrence for people to automatically accept friend requests from old classmates, colleagues or even strangers. Through games, groups and other means of socialization on Facebook it is common to get invites for a connection from people you don't even know.
While some connections are welcomed, sometimes after the fact people realize they may have accepted some connections too quickly or impulsively. They may look at their profile one day and find they've amassed hundreds, if not more, Facebook friends. As a result they may decide to delete some of their Facebook connections that are not really friends.
This is not a bad idea. Privacy is an important consideration and since the Facebook model is built upon real life personalities and less emphasis on anonymity, people can put themselves at real danger on Facebook.
If you find there are several people listed on your friend list that you really don't want to be friends with, it is very easy and straightforward to delete these individuals from your page.
Here is how you can delete a friend on Facebook:
1. Locate each profile, one at a time, of the individuals you want to delete off your list. Once you navigate to their page, scroll to the bottom of the profile.
2. Once you're at the bottom, click the link entitled "Remove from Friends". After this is selected and clicked, a message asking if you are sure you want to delete will appear.
3. Now you are ready to confirm the decision to delete a particular friend. If there is any uncertainty of deleting this Facebook friend, now is the time to make a final decision. Once this confirmation is selected, the decision cannot be reversed. If you think you may have clicked a wrong profile, may want to change your mind, or are not really sure you want to delete a particular friend, this is your last chance to cancel.
4. Confirm. Once this has been clicked you'll notice the friend has been successfully deleted from your profile. It is important to know that your profile will be deleted from the now ex-Facebook friend's page as well. If you want to be friends again, you'll have to start a new request.
Deleting someone from a Facebook friend list is not an uncommon practice and pretty easy to do. Just follow the above steps and you'll be able to immediately delete the names you want.
