What is it that makes zombie movies so appealing to the public? Well to start with they have been an amazing movie genera since the classic Night of the Living Dead. And who couldn't resist watching a film filled with the classic flesh eating, brain loving, and terror inflicting living dead. These movies are bound to make your skin crawl and there's nothing like getting scared right out of your seat. Some of the best zombie movies can make even a grown man look like a little girl. But for some people zombie movies aren't their thing, some people would rather not be scared senseless while on the other hand some love the fear factor that gets the heart pumping a mile-a-minute.
But some zombie movies have really disappointed me. Such as the ever popular Zombie Land, I heard it was a hilarious comedy that would literally make you laugh out loud. But I didn't find it funny at the least bit. The story line was well put but it still lacked in not being able to trigger the funny bone. It also lacked in scaring me but I'll let that one slide since it was made to be a comedy and not a horror film, but still how could you dare put zombie in your title and not have it some what scary. Over all I would give this movie 2/4 stars at the most.
There was one zombie movie that absolutely bewilder me. And that movie happened to be Dawn of the Dead. An amazing movie released roughly ten years after Night of the Living Dead. Both of which were created by the best zombie film maker of all time Romero. This movie is my all time favorite. It truly puts the HORROR in horror film. It did just as it I thought it would, scare me to the point where I froze in fear at the slightest noise in my empty apartment for the next week after seeing the film. All-together I give this film 5/5 stars.
So whether your the type whom can't resist a good scare or not, I highly recomend Dawn of the Dead and highly don't recomend Zombie Land. We all have are opinions and these were mine. So take a couple of hours to go see a zombie film, you never know if you like them if you dont give them a try... but on a side note be sure to bring a backup pair of pants. :)
