I have been given prescription medication (which only made me feel more awake). I have set schedules and practiced healthier eating and exercising habits. I have accepted many possibilities when it comes to my lack of sleeping habits.
I have enforced many changes when it comes to my sleeping methods but none of them always work. There are still many nights that I am wide-awake, even after taking medication. I meditate until I finally crawl off into my own thoughts.
On average, I get about fifteen hours of sleep in a good week. I have came to the point that I believe anything is better than nothing. Sometimes, I would kill for a full eight hours of sleep but I must admit I don't know what I am missing.
I often think that my insomnia went too far before I was able to grasp a hold on the fact that I had a problem. I let my mind play tricks on me and I convinced myself that I must stay awake. Now, sleeping is often a dreaded ritual in my world that I am slowing and fearfully beginning to ease into.
For those of you that share similar insomnia stories and problems, I want you to know that you are not alone. Sleep is a very important aspect of human life and you shouldn't give up hope. Try different methods until you are able to find one that works for you (even if it doesn't work for everybody else).
Sweet dreams are meant for everyone. You deserve yours just as I deserve mine. Try to relax and not focus on the fact that you can't sleep. I have found that it will come when you are least expecting it. It took me a long time to discover it but I can now assure you that there is nothing lurking in the shadows and the bedbugs won't bite.
