To be scene, it's all about being individual and being noticed, or 'seen!' It presents a similar style to what is widely referred to as emo, but with more of a cheerful outlook. Many teenagers strive to be Scene Kids, as they are attractive, interesting, and often quite bubbly in their personalities.
1) Bright clothes and colours are a must. They make you stand out straight away, which is good. Clothes themselves tend to be just as important as colours. To a scene girl, it is essential to own and wear at least one tu-tu at a time, sometimes maybe more! For days when you feel less like playing dress-up, skinny jeans are available in most colours, often also patterned with stars and lightening bolts. Band tee shirts are also an important part of the scene wardrobe, male or female, and you can quickly judge a fellow scene kid by their band tee. Jackets also tend to be very fitted, even on boys.
2) Try listening to some music. Just type into a search engine 'scene music' and lots of suggestions will appear. Listening to the music is good as it helps you take on a 'scene' mind set. Scene music tends to quite commercial, but also quite electro-rock. Scene music is very modern, as the scene fashion is also very modern. There are very few bands who are just 'exclusively scene,' but a good place to start is Cobra Starship. They are electro-scene and represent some of the best scene music; they are easy to listen to and so great to get you into the scene mucic scene!
3) Back to bright colours, bright makeup is a must. Either lots of shades of one colour with lots of black eye-liner, or lots of bright colours in layers. Think of peacocks on both this tip and tip #1! Hot pink is a very common colour for scene girls, and it is essential that the eyeliner is black. Try searching the Internet to find how-to videos and examples of the makeup if you can't master it on your own, or just for inspiration. Try flicks not dissimilar to Amy Winehouse. Practice is the most important part of getting the perfect scene makeup, so keep trying, Maybe throw a party with other scene girlies and try it all out together! Scene boys also tend to wear similar makeup, so maybe find some scene male friends and get makeup tips from them!
Most importantly, make the scene style fit you... not the other way around.
