With all these great phones out on the market today its exceptionally difficult to discern which one is the best. There are now smart phones, PDAs, flip phones, and every other type of phone under the sun. What gives me the right to choose the best? Well nothing really, accept for the fact that you are reading this right now and I have owned a plethora of phones both great and horrible.
When the topic of the best cell phone comes up, inevitably someone will always think of Apples Iphone. Maybe a little more recently some people would think of Motorola's new phone the Droid. Well when you are trying to decide what phone is the best you have to take several things into account. Things like the operating system, hardware, service provider, and many others.
So after researching for many hours and taking into consideration all of the phones that I have previously owned I have finally reached a verdict.
The award goes to the HTC Hero. For any of you who are not quite familiar with the HTC line of phones i implore you to do yourself the justice of trying one of these little beauties out. The Hero specifically comes pre loaded with a half gigabyte of internal memory, 288mb of RAM and a great 5.0 mega pixel camera. This little phone has it all.
The HTC Hero runs the Android 1.5 operating system right out of the box although an update for the Android 2.1 operating system is due June 2010. This will be an improvement to an already great phone and a superb operating system. The HTC Hero also runs on the Sprint network which is now boasting its new 4g network. Sprint just seems like the right way to go.
On top of all the great things that this phone offers you have the ability to browse that Android App Store. Since the phone runs the Android operating system the phone will run anything in the App Store with great ease. Well you may try to say that Apple has a great app store, and sure it does have more apps, but the majority of the apps and games in the Android Marketplace are free! This means that there is much more fun to be had with much less hurt on your money supply.
This being said, I feel like the HTC Hero is by far the best phone on the market today although it looks like it will have a contender this summer. The first ever 4g phone, the HTC EVO is marked to be released this summer, and with its laundry list of great features it is sure to claim the throne of best mobile phone. But for now the HTC Hero reigns supreme.
