High school days
I remember it like yesterday
Running to get the bus
Had to far to go to be late
Walking in the rain from the train
Arriving just in time
An environmental for true learning
Able to ask, analyze and explore
Getting a complete understanding
Just not parts and pieces
It was a different place than most schools
Open and free not just a building
Friendships were honest
To the point but meaningful
Discovering how to be social
The true meaning of a conversation
Enjoying each others company
Uncertainty about plans for the future
It went by too quickly
Thirty years old
A different time, a different place
I look back sometimes
And wonder did it really all happen.

"You could have chosen anyone,
I'm no outstanding piece of craft,

Eternal Flame
A passion burned and still burns -
longer and stronger, even,
than trite and futile governance
from within and
Oh Sylvia,
A dark Scorpio sister
who's intensity
ran as deep as
the water.
I wish you had come
to terms with your pain,

Through creation we give nothing
No flesh to preserve
