Poetry: A blank page

by JP Shaw

Created on: April 13, 2010

A canvas of nothingness to indulge upon.

A wave of rich, silent text, weaving across the book of shadows.

Imagination of incredible proportions.

Bright colors and the wicked sound of traffic.

An echoing horn, pedestrian and authoritative in nature.

Broken concentration, frustration, turmoil.

Blankly staring back at me, mocking me with laughter.

Rising to the challenge of defeat, plunging me forward.

Crisp, edgy, divine, razor, depleting.

Never give up.

Squandering the talents to which I dare dream.

Never give up.

Hardship and cruelty causing me to falter.

Never give up.

I'm ready now to battle this war to rage.

Every good idea starts with nothing but a blank page.
