Prom night is vastly approaching. The perfect dress has been found, the tuxedo has been rented, and the perfect corsage ha been found. Prom night is one that teenage boys and girls look forward to all year, and it is a magical one. Prom night is one that will be remembered for years to come.
No one wants to damper the night by pricking their self or their date when its time to pin on the corsage. The corsage is a lovely accent flower arrangement that ladies wear on their arms or their dress and the gentlemen wear them on their tuxedo. The corsage finishes and compliments the entire ensemble.
So how does one pin or slip on a corsage properly? There are two different types of corsages available for the special occasion: pinned or wrist corsages.
To properly and securly pin the corsage follow these easy steps:
1.) Flip the corsage over and unhook the pin from the back. Save this pin as it is used later to attach the corsage to your date's dress.
2.) Next, you want to position the corsage. Choose an area between your date's shoulders and her chin, on the left side of her dress. Depending on your date's dress you may need to raise or lower the position of the corsage slightly to have even and proper placement.
3.) Now this is an important step.
Hold the fabric of your date's dress where you intend to place the corsage. You want to pull the fabric slightly away from your date's skin so there is no accidental pricking of the skin when attaching the corsage.
4.) Take the safety pin and guide it slowly through the wire stem of the corsage, through your date's dress and back through the stem. Now, just latch the safety pin and you are finished. No pricking, no sticking, no fuss. Just smooth and cool a great way to start prom night.
Congratulations, you have successfully pinned a corsage on your date without causing damage to her or her prom dress.
Now how to place a wrist corsage:
This is the easiest of the two corsages for placement.
First just ask your date which wrist she prefers the corsage on: left, or right wrist.
Traditionally, the corsage is worn on the left wrist but, she may prefer the right one and that's okay to because, its her magical night.
Have your date hold her arm out with the palm side up.
Stretch the rubber band on the back of the corsage slightly. This will help it slide over her hand and wrist. Slide the corsage onto her wrist flower side up.
Finally, turn your dates arm over and rotate the corsage until the flower arrangement is resting over her wrist.
Congratulations, you have now placed a wrist corsage like a pro.
Prom night is a magical one, being knowledgeable on corsages and how to place them will make the evening run just that much smoother. Enjoy your prom as you have earned it for making it through the school year. Enjoy your evening as everything is off to a running great start.
