There are times when the search for the right word eludes,
When a thesaurus won’t find the encapsulation of thought,
That triggered the search,
When 'tip of the tongue', 'edge of the mind', thought protrudes,
Poking the brain insane,
It has to be the ‘right’ word,
The word that says exactly what you mean,
A word that will be heard,
In the passage as you dream,
When you’re dancing you’re prancing, romancing, or gliding,
When you’re hiding you’re biding, backsliding, or more,
A death brings a passing, a sadness, a mort,
A wedding a joyful, celebration with thought,
No action, reaction, rebirthing, or line,
Can express with the wrong word the meaning of rhyme,
It must be the right word the correct or the only word,
It must be the right word that’s heard!

Poetry: The right word
by Scott Scherr
We strive with pen upon intended path
Inclined to make the most of measured words.

until a stranger

slowly came up
by Ted Sherman
How may one find the right word;
Never first, second nor third.
I just sit here and search my brain
‘Til it’s overcome
HONEST TRUTH
There he stood in the witness box,
a professor of English, no less.
Having placed his hand on the Bible -

Words Never Fail
A picture is deamed worth a thousand.
The right one? Worth a thousand pictures!
Alone, it marks potential
