EYES THAT SEE.
Eyes that see the dusty plain
The mountains in their splendor
Pounding seas that will not tame
the shore in slow surrender.
Eyes that see the busy stream
The lake of still cold water
Rocks that in the sunshine gleam
The cascade that won't falter.
Eyes that see the city heat
The people throng about
A tram that trundles down the street
The paper boy his shout.
Eyes that see a garden there
With Flowers in profusion
Some we know and some are rare
Spread wide in such diffusion
Eyes that see the children play
With energy that is boundless
Their bodies restless all the day
The joy of them is ceaseless
Eyes that see the colors change
The red with gold combining
O're the west beyond the range
The evenings glow is blinding
Eyes that see the velvet night
With moon and stars that shimmer
To turn and see a glowing light
Tis home and fear grows dimmer.

Whose eyes are they
that twinkle before me
like a pair of new stars
born full of joy
