If we, as a nation, don't start to produce our own oil, then conserving it won't do a thing for us in the long, as we will still be dependent on other countries to continue functioning.  If we stop other countries such as China from drilling off of our Florida shores, and put our own platforms out there, we become more the powerhouse we once were economically.

As it stands now, we are nation who is jobless, economically starved, and environmentally brainwashed. If you saw the movie "There Will Be Blood", then you understand the phrase "I drink your milkshake!"  If we allow foreign countries to drill off of our shores, they are essentially taking oil from the U.S.

Don't misunderstand, I'm all for finding more ecological friendly forms of power, etc., but not at the expense of our countries livelihood.  If we were to lift the ban on drilling, we could tap into multiple oil reserves all over the U.S. that would keep up independent of foreign entities and create more jobs for Americans.  Our gas prices would go down drastically, which would save the average American, I dare say, thousands of dollars a year at the pump.

If we continue to depend on foreign supplies, we continue to back-peddle economically, as well as politically, because whoever we are dependent on, IS going to be calling the shots in D.C., constitution or not!

My step-father has worked in the oil field all of his life, geologists have found oil reserves in the mid-west, large enough, that it would supply the U.S. for the next 50 years.  Think about it, the jobs created, the money made and saved by drilling again.

All while researching alternate fuel sources to keep us from being completely dependent on oil.  Once we get ourselves independent of the Middle East, and the power hungry U.N. & N.A.T.O., America might have a shot at being the country that our founding fathers envisioned.

We need to tell our representatives in D.C. to quit buying into Al Gore's inconvenient lie, and utilize our time and resources to making America independent, and financially viable once again!  Tell your representatives to lift the ban on drilling in the U.S. and its coastal waters.  Urge the oil companies to take a percentage of their profits and use them to finding alternate energy and fuel sources for the American people, and the rest of the world.
