To start the Gertrude’s Cat quest, you will need to speak to Gertrude. You can find her in the house south of Juliet’s house from the Romeo and Juliet quest. She will tell you that Fluffs, her cat has ran away and she cannot go and look for Fluffs as she is too busy looking after a children. Accept the quest and Gertrude will tell you to go to one of her sons, who might know where Fluffs is.

Gertrude’s sons can be found in the north-east corner of the Varrock center, close to where Benny the Newspaper Seller and the Fur Seller. There will be two of them, talk to either of them and ask them whether they know where Fluffs is. They will tell you that Fluffs has ran away from Gertrude to their secret hideout. When you ask them where the hideout is, they won’t tell you. They will say they don’t have enough money, and they will tell you where their secret hideout is, if you give them 100gp. After you have given them 100gp, they will tell you that their secret hideout is the Varrock Lumber Mill. They will inform you that the only way in is by climbing over the broken fence that is surrounding the Varrock Lumber Mill.

 Now you need to go over to the Lumber Mill. Refer to your world map if you unsure where it is, it is north-east of Varrock. When you reach there, you find that the Lumber Mill is surrounded by a fence. Near the Sawmill Operator’s Hut, there is a broken fence. Climb over that, and you will be inside the Lumber Mill. Note that you do not need a certain level of agility to climb over the fence.

 Once you are inside the compound, go over to the center of the Lumber Mill, and you will find a ladder. Climb up the ladder and you should find Gertrude’s cat, Fluffy. Try to pick the cat up, but it will scratch you. You will find out that the cat is thirsty, so get a bucket of milk and use it on the cat. After you have given it some milk, try to pick it up again. Once again, it will scratch you, but this time you learn that it is hungry and would like some food. To get some food, go back to Gertrude’s house, and behind her house there should be some Doogle Leaves. Use the Doogle Leaves on a raw Sardine, and you will get a seasoned Sardine. You will not need to cook the sardine. Go back to the Lumber Mill, and use the seasoned Sardine onto the cat. Try to pick it up again, but this time it will be afraid to leave, because it’s kitten is missing.

 Climb down the ladder, and start searching the crates. You will find the kitten in one of the crates. To be more specific, it is in the crate at the top left corner of the screen. It will have the word ‘Search’ in yellow, instead of the usually blue colour. After you have found the kitten, go back up the ladder and use the kitten on Fluffs. Both the cats will run back to Gertrude’s house. Now go back to Gertrude to claim your reward.
