Reba McEntire is amazing! She has had a career than anyone in any genre of music would be envious of. Songs such as "Is There Life Out There", and "I'll Be" are songs that have moved, and inspired me. Who doesn't feel that sometimes life has passed them by, and they question whether they can be anything else other than who they are? Who has not looked at their mother, and realized that, no matter what difficulties you all might have as parent and child, she will always be there for you, picking you up, guiding you, trying to show you the way, and the only way for you to pay her back is to be there when she needs someone. What a great story! No one could have told that like Mrs. McEntire did. They are songs that made me want to become a better songwriter, a better person.
Reba has shown that she can ride the many waves of change that have occurred in the music industry. She has managed to stay not only current but authentic in a business that, in order to stay current, one must become jaded, and fabricated, but Mrs. McEntire has managed to avoid that pitfall of fame.
As I reminisce on memories of my favorite Reba songs I remember "He Gets That From Me," and "Somebody." "Somebody" really resonates with me because I am in that place in my life, looking for love, hoping that it will find me someday. In this song. Reba gave me hope, and I hold on to that to this day. Songs like the ones mentioned are great songs, classics .Those are songs that help me remember why I love country music. The way the artists tell stories, the way Reba McEntire tells stories, it is mesmerising.
Going beyond music, Reba has been able to spr ead her wings into acting with a television show that bares her name. I have got to say, although I may be a bit bias, that the show is a great show. It is funny In the most simplistic ways, and her comedic timing seems to be top notch. Now to be truely forthcoming, I do not know much about comedy or comedic timing, but it seems to me that she knows what she is doing!
In interviews and other television appearances, Mrs. Reba seems young at heart. She is always smiling, and laughing. She seems to be a very kind individual, and she seems to have a glow around her, a kind of peace that I feel one only gets if they are trying to live as the best version of themselves.
I guess it is easy to say that I love Reba. I love her for the music that she has given me, and the world. However, I appreciate Reba for the person that she seems to be minus the money, fame, and success.
