Aging, which is the slowing down of our body's mechanism; we age as it is an inevitable natural phenomenon. Although it's impossible to turn back the clock in its entirety, our behavior and lifestyle can significantly affect our bodily changes and arrest the process of aging.

Fast paced living, erratic lifestyle and poor nutrition can take its toll on our health.

It is up to each one of us to determine how we want to age. Do we want to enjoy the benefits of healthy aging? Or do we simply want to succumb to the damages of unhealthy aging?

Several factors simultaneously come into play. By starting to build our defenses early on in life to acquire optimal health, we can look and feel better, have more energy and dramatically arrest the aging process.

Let us look into some important areas which can significantly turn back the clock:

~A Balanced Lifestyle

Moderation in all aspect of our day-to-day living is of great importance. Keeping mentally and physically fit is critical. Better health can be obtained by ensuring we live in a clean, germ-free environment, by improving our lifestyle, avoiding harmful substances likes smoking or excessive drinking and by reducing any adverse risks to our health.

~ Positive Attitude

Attitude is how we react to the multitude of challenges we face in various aspects of our lives. Adopting a positive attitude in all aspects of our daily lives can build our body's immune defenses and have a direct impact on our thinking and our moods. It can help to keep our minds active and functioning in top condition.

Optimism is a preventive health measure. Optimistic individuals generally suffer lesser degree of depression and helplessness; they have greater chances of slowing down the process of aging.

~ Good Nutrition

Good nutrition leads to healthier, longer life. Eating the right amounts of foods with balance and moderation is the key. Healthy eating entails foods having all the essential nutrients to enable our body to function in top working condition.

Diseases such as heart-disease, diabetes, and hypertension can trigger our aging process. By adopting a balanced diet, we can reduce the risk of developing these food-related diseases and significantly turn back the aging- clock.

~ Rest and Exercise

The benefits of rest and exercise to our body are enormous. Insufficient rest and sleep can bring on a host of health problems especially as we begin to age. Daily adequate sleep of 6-8 hours at night refreshes
