The different types of people that play bingo

Created on: April 11, 2010

People of all ages can enjoy a good game of “eyes down,” bingo.  You can buy the came bingo, in all good toy stores, and start playing with your children at home.  It is a great game, and can be educational for children; you can give little prizes to the lucky line and house winners.  Why not consider inviting friends, family and neighbours around to enjoy the game also.

All this being said to actually attend a bingo hall you have to be at least 18 years of age in the UK.  If you look under 18 you will be asked for ID to prove your age.  Bingo is gambling and is addictive, there are people who get totally “hooked,” and it plays a major part in their lives.

People of all different backgrounds, cultures and ages, over 18 years enjoy a night out at bingo.  Couples, friends, family and singular people enjoy it.  Many people take flasks of tea or coffee, because they arrive early, they sit at their chosen table playing cards and talking.  A bingo hall is quite a good meeting place; however beware all you new people who wish to play.  To begin with the regulars don’t take kindly to new people winning.  It can however be quite a giggle, looking around when a new person wins, and watching the raised eyebrows, and hearing whispering and tutting.

In the bingo halls are slot machines, and in the intervals, people rush to play the machines, well it is a sight for sore eyes, you have to see it to believe it.  Some people push and shove and can become quite aggressive if you get there before them.  Don’t worry though, they don’t own it, they have just become very set in their ways.  You just need to win on it, to see the total madness in the other persons face.

On the serious side now, bingo is a great game, for all to enjoy.  Bingo halls serve food and beverages at very reasonable costs during the intervals.  People of all ages dab away at their bingo cards.  Some people just have 1 card others have as many as 6.  Some people’s hearing isn’t too good, but that is okay as the numbers are displayed clearly on screens, for all to see.

If you are over 18 years old and have never been, put it on your “to do” list.  You won’t regret it and who knows you just may win.
