The beauty of a Godmother cocktail is in its simplicity. The sweet amaretto and the sharp vodka compliment each other perfectly and create a lovely sipping cocktail for just about anyone.
GODMOTHER COCKTAIL RECIPE
This classic recipe really cannot be topped, but if you are interested in a variation or two, I have provided those below. Try this one first to please the palate!
INGREDIENTS
4-6 ice cubes, cracked
2 measures vodka
1 measure amaretto
DIRECTIONS
1. In a chilled lowball glass, place the cracked ice cubes.
2. Pour vodka and amaretto into the glass.
3. Stir to mix and serve.
GODDAUGHTER COCKTAIL RECIPE
This variation on the Godmother brings a wonderful apple flavor, making it perfect for an autumn celebration.
INGREDIENTS
4-6 ice cubes, cracked
2 measures applejack
1 measure amaretto
1 tablespoon applesauce
Ground cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
1. In a blender, combine cracked ice, applejack, amaretto, and applesauce. Blend until smooth.
2. Without straining, pour the drink into a chilled wine glass .
3. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon before serving.
GODSON COCKTAIL RECIPE
This orange twist on the classic recipe is a rhapsody in citrus.
INGREDIENTS
4-6 ice cubes, cracked
2 measures amaretto
Orange juice
Orange slice
DIRECTIONS
1. Fill a chilled highball glass with the cracked ice.
2. Pour in the amaretto, then fill with orange juice.
3. Stir to mix, dress with a slice of orange, and serve.
GODCHILD COCKTAIL RECIPE
Here's a frothy, tasty treat! The light cream makes this a lovely way to finish off a meal and goes great with a rich dessert.
INGREDIENTS
4-6 ice cubes, crushed
1 1/2 measures amaretto
1 measure vodka
1 measure light cream
DIRECTIONS
1. In a blender, combine crushed ice, amaretto, vodka, and light cream.
2. Whizz the mixture until smooth and pour into a chilled champagne flute to serve.
