I have a desire to uplift and inspire
And words can do just that
Don't reach for the wine, read a poem of mine
And

I write because I love

I write of what I see

what touches the heart,

my heart,

of beauty, of pain, of horrors,

of laughter,

I write to purge my thoughts,
making room for new ones.

I write to drain the love inside,
so my heart won’t burst.
