Here we go again. Another opinion of the Tiger Wood saga. Neither more nor less of the previous or future ones. No better or worse, I suppose. Just one more attempt to remove the meaning of the holidays from what should be discussed. What will the children remember about the holiday season of 2010. The birth of the King or the day Tiger Woods, or the day went down in the history books as the most talked about person on the globe! Will the world stop turning in the year 2012? Will every TV station world wide halt to hear the voice of the Lord saying, I'm sorry, I cheated, I lied, it was all my fault? With the amount of money involved here, how are we to know that it wasn't just some new kind of publicity stunt for Nike to jack up sales? I read somewhere that they were talking about 95 million or billion dollars. How many people would find themselves relieved of a lot of mortgages debt and or bank foreclosures? Isn't that what Christmas is all about? Or perhaps donated funds to help our military get the much needed equipment to get the heck out of the sand hills they have gotten themselves into.
I could not believe that the Tiger Woods' apology preempted the war! Much less the "View's" puppy show. I find it hard to believe that finding a good home for sheltered pets would take a back seat to a high priced playboy. All the puppies in the world could get a green sports coat for that! I truly hope that when all is said and done, that his wife and children are on the up and up and not part of some elaborate advertisement scheme by these billion dollar companies to get Tiger back in the spotlight during the other dominating sport of the season, football!
I love sports, but to every thing (turn, turn) there is a season. Golf is not a winter sport. I would have liked to seen more of the Olympics and much less of Tiger. It just seemed a little early to have him back in the spotlight so soon after causing his families such humiliation, for him to be in the Masters Tournament. What's more is that he turned a horrific sex scandal into prime time TV into a mini series that commanded the three precious holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and even Easter. This is our families favorite time for TV. All the Bible stories, The Ten Commandments, Jesus of Nazareth, The Robe, etc. and they rose a ruckus about Mel Gibson's THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, saying it was too graphic
