Cooking is a helpful skill in Runescape, with it you can cook all sorts of things like sea turtles, cakes, pizza, mud pies etc. These can be vital for you to stay alive and to make money.
Level 1 - 15
To begin, I suggest you complete the Cook’s Assistant quest, because not only will you get 300 cooking xp, you will also have access to use the Lumbridge castle cooking range, which is a special range that allows you to burn less food. Since you only get xp when you cook something successfully, this range can be very helpful. The best thing to cook at this stage is raw chicken and raw beef. You can collect them from - as you’ve probably already figured out - chickens and cows!
Alternatively, if you are a member, you can choose to make scrambled eggs when you reach level 13 instead as they give you high xp for your level. Eggs can be acquired from the Lumbridge chicken pen, the Culinaromancer’s Chest, Rellekka or free from a complete POH kitchen.
Level 15 - 35
Now that you are level 15 in cooking, you can choose to stay with scrambled eggs, or you can start to cook trout! Enter a highly populated world like world 1, 2, 3, 5 or 7. Then, head over to the barbarian village fishing spot and either pick up the raw fishes, take them from the fishers or fish them yourself. To fish your own fish, you will need a fly fishing rod and feathers. Once you have a full inventory of raw fish, run and bank them in the Edgeville bank, then run back to the barbarian village to collect more fish. You will need approximately 230 raw trout as you will burn quite a lot of them at the start. Remember to use the Lumbridge Castle cooking range so you burn less food. When you reach level 25 and can cook salmons, i suggest you continue with trout unless you are going to eat it, because at level 25, you will burn significantly less trout than salmon.
Level 35 - 50
Well done, you can now wine! Wine gives very good experience when making them, it is one of the best in Runescape. To make wine, you will need grapes and a jug of water. Just use the grapes on the jug of water, and it should become unfermented wine. Put it into the bank for 15 seconds, then take it out and you shall see if it has successfully fermented. Grapes can be quite costly for non-members, but members can get grapes for 1 gp each from the Culinaromancer’s Chest. To get to level 50, you will need to make 383 jugs of wine, it is safer to prepare to make 420 because some will go bad.
