Global warming is continuing to cause enormous devastation on the worlds economies particularly in countries like India. India today, is relying on their agriculture sector for about 1/5 of their GDP. This industry alone employees over 60% of India's population. Now, the problem of ensuring India's continued economic growth is greatly hampered due to the fact that their rainy season has produce so little rainfall, over 280 districts were forced to declare drought conditions.
This season alone a 30% decline of rainfall has put many of India's population in serious jeopardy of losing the amount of wages that they need, to avoid a real financial and economic disaster, that has already arisen due directly to the lack of rain from their monsoon season. All of which is a direct result of global warming.
The economic conditions in countries like India rely on their agriculture as a very important and large part of their total GDP. So when any disruption of nature in normal seasonal occurrences happen, total countries economic, financial and social structures suffer.
Today in India their economic future is also tied directly the the overall financial stability of Europe and the United States and their financial institutions. When the banking crisis of 2008 hit, India also suffered financial losses. It was only through their farming and agriculture sector that kept India from falling deeper in debt.
That year the conditions were less severe than they are today but in every preceding year for the past few years the rainy season has steadily been declining to now the whole country is feeling the effects of what global warming can do the the country's economy.
It is the impact of global warming that renders countries economies almost helpless against the natural calamities that are caused by man's un- quenching thirst for their increased consumption of fossil fuels at alarming rates every year.
The carbon dioxide that is a direct result of burning fossil fuels adds more heat into the atmosphere which is trapped thus creating more temperature increases around the globe. This sets off a chain reaction felt by every nation and every living thing on this planet.
The recent find of a large oil deposit found under Paris, France and the outright attempt to garnish this reserve only further encourages more consumption on fossil fuels which further accelerates climate change.
