There are many flattering hairstyles for fine hair. The style best for you will depend on your face shape and personal taste. If like many people who have fine hair you want yours to appear thicker opt for a style which adds volume, as well as being attractive to look at.
Hair styles for long fine hair
Long fine hair usually falls flat down the sides of the face. It can however, have volume added to give the appearance of thickness and extra weight. By using extra large rollers you can achieve a much fuller hair style, and if you have a round or square face such a style will look great on you.
If you have an oval or heart shaped face your fine hair will look flattering long if cut to the same length all the way around, except for bangs. Keep it shiny and sleek by using a good conditioner, and have the ends of your hair trimmed regularly.
Fine long hair can look very elegant and sophisticated when worn as an up do. To add height to a hairstyle brush hair into one section, and secure close to the roots with a hairband in the same color as your hair. Holding the opposite end of the section of hair closest to your shoulders, twist all the way up to the top of the shaft, until it's tight up against the hair band. Follow this by coiling the hair into a snail shell shape on the top of your head, but slightly towards the back, and secure with hair pins.
Hair styles for medium length fine hair
Both medium and short fine hair can be cut to look flattering, and to provide the wearer with much more volume than longer hair. The main way this is done is by the addition of layers to the hairstyle. Each layer of fine hair can be flicked into place during the drying process. To do this use a metallic round brush, and curl sections of each layer when damp. Then apply heat with the hair dryer until natural looking flicks are produced.
If you have a round or square shaped face, part fine hair to the side. Your hairstyle will also be improved to suit your face shape if you have side bangs. If however, your face is oval or heart shaped, choose between bangs or one length hair.
Another flattering hair style for fine, medium length hair is a bob. This 1930's inspired style can add volume to fine hair when the wearer dries hair with their head hanging upside down, and then curls ends under with a wide, round hairbrush.
Hair styles for short fine hair
An urchin hair cut, otherwise known as a pixie cut, is a modern style which looks smart and snazzy. Hair is cut to frame the wearers face, but feathered all the way around, leaving ends of hair choppy in appearance. This style suits fine hair because thickness is not required to pull it off successfully, and fine hair's easy to shape this way.
Short fine hair can also be layered, adding as much volume as the wearers likes. Such a hairstyle's easy to maintain, and only requires a few minutes work in the morning.
By taking into account your face shape and personal style, you will easily be able to find a flattering hair style to suit your fine hair perfectly.
