Drink recipes: Old fashioned

There is a reason for the phrase "good old-fashioned..."

When something is called a "good old-fashioned" anything, it is a fairly safe bet that you are in for a treat. My grandmother's good old-fashioned fried chicken is the best in the world. A good old-fashioned hayride is always a lot of fun. Good old-fashioned Christmases often involve feasts and family bonding. Calling something old-fashioned does not necessarily mean you are calling something boring. Often, it means something lovely that stands on lots of tradition, which we should respect, keep alive, and enjoy. Anything that has survived the test of time long enough to be referred to as old-fashioned is definitely on to something good.

This principle applies perfectly to an Old Fashioned cocktail. It has been around for ages - over a century at least - and only seems to get better with age. If you are feeling nostalgic for a time you never knew, or if you are just looking for a fantastic, delicious, easy cocktail to treat yourself to, mix yourself up an Old Fashioned. Sit back and relax while enjoying this drink, soaking up a favorite drink for over a hundred years. Sip your way through the ages and enjoy the experience of drinking an Old Fashioned!
