How to make your travels memorable

by Kaya Brinkman

Since most people are not blessed with, and do not have photgraphic memories and remember everything that we have ever done, we have to think up ways to "remember"  our trips ourselves. There are many ways to make your travels memorable, and you don't even have to go go somewhere expensive and fancy.

First of all you could go with family. I went on a trip to California about 7 years ago, and I still remember everything the we ever did there. That might be because we went with family. All of my family on my dad's side went. We flew out together, we stayed in hotels together, we ate together, and we visited places together. How much better can it get?! I even remember going camping with family, at a campground that was only 20 minutes away from our house. We went fishing together, played games, cards, swimming, biking, and fishing. We just got to hang out. It's really nice to be with family at a time in your life when everything is just busy. How often do you get to do that?

You can also take pictures. This is a great way to capture a moment and make it last forever. Plus, it is always fun to look through older pictures. I like to sit on my bed and look through pictures, it's really nice to go back and remember the times that we've had- good and bad. You can buy a digital camera which lets you preview your pictures, and then you can take them to CVS or wal-mart and upload them to the machine. From there you get to pick which pictures you want to print and which ones you don't. It makes it easy. Finally you could either make a scrapbook, or put pictures in a box. That way you can keep them and their memories forever.

I have also used a journal on a mission trip that I took to Honduras last year with my church. This helps you remember details later, things that you might forget after a little bit of time. I did this so I could go back and remember what a good time I had and some of the places that I went and the things that we did.

These are just a few of the things that you can do to make your trips more memorable, so use whatever suites you best and have fun.
