The Right Word
Hey! You hurt my feelings
Don't you see that I am chilling
I am happy, smiling, and glad
But I feel that you only want to see me sad
We have been friends for so very long
But yet, you came at me all wrong
I am in love with a strong black man
And he doesn't treat me like any ol’ woman
What happened to us
We didn't use to fuss
At least not over this type of silliness
But over the joys and frivolousness
Are you not my friend anymore
Have you decided to walk out of the door
I don't know the words to say
But I had hoped you would stay
Your words weren't so true
Now I am feeling so very blue
You flew like the bird in the coop
Now, we shall never share the stoop
What you did wasn't real
Now your words are full of steel
What do we say now
Cause your right word smell like a sow!

Poetry: The right word
by Scott Scherr
We strive with pen upon intended path
Inclined to make the most of measured words.
A line can lead to streams refreshing
My tears fell
like an avalanche
until a stranger
saw me and said
the right word.
My head, no longer lead
slowly came up
by Ted Sherman
How may one find the right word;
Never first, second nor third.
I just sit here and search my brain
‘Til it’s overcome
HONEST TRUTH
There he stood in the witness box,
a professor of English, no less.
Having placed his hand on the Bible -
only
Words Never Fail
A picture is deamed worth a thousand.
The right one? Worth a thousand pictures!
Alone, it marks potential
