Linux being a new freeware operating system provided by ububtu which is growing in demand day by day by people changing operating systems. Windows still being the world’s most known and used operating system. This article deals with the mail advantages and disadvantages of Linux over Windows.

                                                                                                     ADVANTAGES

♣  COST this is probably the biggest advantage of Linux. As Linux is a freeware you can download for free or request a disk only paying for the shipping price. As windows can cost a lot and only allowing you to use the license once on one computer you can use Linux on as many computers as you wish without paying anything.

♣  HARDWARE Linux is ideal for old computers or notebooks with barely any processing power or memory. Which is ideal for a low budget family as all you need is a old computer which u can get for free on a few websites and install Linux and you’re ready. There's no way you could do this with any windows operating system.

♣  BOOTING TIME Many off you probably noticed the time it will take you to boot windows and connect to the internet can take anything from 4 minutes to 8 minutes or even more! Where was Linux has and extremely fast booting time. Joulicloud, a version of Linux, has a record of 15 seconds to boot and is ready for the internet on a normal computer.

♣  FREE SOFTWARE Nearly all of your software for Linux is free. Your office software, photo editing, video editing, video players etc... These are all free and just as good as the ones you would buy for windows for an astonishing 700 euro or more!

♣  LOTS OF DISTROS TO CHOOSE FROM Because no one "owns" Linux many people and companies take on the task of creating different versions (distros) of Linux. There are hundreds nearly a thousand different types of Linux out there for you to download making it easier for you to get just what you want.
