TV shows that brought families together

On television, we are introduced to people both fictional and non fictional from every single walk of life. We are introduced through extremes, which ranges from the intellectual to the dysfunctional. We are amazed, surprised and sometimes disgusted by the actions of these people we see on TV, but we can't say we haven't all been humored as well. What people tend to enjoy most about television shows or series are that they make family the core of their existence and indeed this is a desirable characteristic. Though family life may sometimes seem hard and unfair, they still best define who we are. Here are a few TV families that eradicate the concept of being normal and make us appreciate our own families a bit more.

Number 4: From the marriage of a Cuban woman to a Mexican man we get the 'Lopez family'. George Lopez and his family represent dysfunction on so many levels. His mother Benny is an alcoholic, who mistreated him as a child. They both spend hours trading offensive remarks to each other, which gives the series a lot of punch lines including 'George's big head joke'. His father abandoned him as child which in turn causes him to doubt his own role as a father. His son Max has dyslexia and his daughter Carmen is extremely rebellious and bratty. He is continuously taunted by others about getting the beautiful and gorgeous wife, Angie. He struggles daily at work and at home, his problems ranges from finances and keeping discipline in his home to keeping his mother and father-in-law out of his home.

Number 3: Another completely dysfunctional family is having a mother and father who are separated and having an Uncle Charlie. In 'Two and A Half Men' we are introduced to Charlie, a womanizing bachelor who's life became disrupting when his touchy brother Alan and his all absorbing, honest yet manipulative son Jake moves in with him after his divorce from wife Judith who now despises him. Both Charlie and Alan resent their conceited and controlling mother and have a neighbor who stalks Charlie and knows every detail of his life. Although the movie is entitled Two and A Half Men, they all at times behave like children.

Number 2: Coming in at number two is "Malcolm in The Middle". This family doesn't have one or two black sheep but six and later seven. This family has a knack for getting into dangerous and complicated situations. Malcolm who narrates the stories is considered the genius and evidently feels that he doesn't fit in with his family.
