If you want to create website you need to know some basics. For start you need to have a will and time, computer and Internet connection. To make a simple website you can use Notepad which is free and installed with all Windows versions, but for higher quality work it's better to use software like Dreamweawer, or any other software with HTML support. Foundation of every website is HTML code which is very simple to learn. After you build a web page you'll have to publish it from your computer to a hosting server where you've bought the space. The last step is choosing a domain name.
How to start?
First you should make a concept of your web page on a piece of paper. Draw how you want it to look like. After that prepare a folder in you hard drive where all your website files will be located. Then choose appropriate program to build your website. There are many programs you can use, some of them are Dreamweawer, KompoZer, CoffeCup or Notepad ++. There are also WYSIWYG applications that allow you to create a website without learning HTML. But if you want to have a full control over the website design then you should learn HTML and get better results.
Design
When it comes to web page design you have to make sure that your page is functional and attractive to visitors. The best way to decide about design is to put yourself in a role of visitor and ask yourself what would you expect to see on this page. The best way for you to check your work is to save anything you've done so far and open it in your Internet browser. It is important that you see the result of your work before you publish it.
Cascading Style Sheet
CSS is a style language which we use to define look of all elements on web page. It is important to add the CSS file to improve the look of your page. It's not hard to learn CSS and if you want better results you should add it to your page.
Publishing
Choose a domain name and publish your page to World Wide Web. The best way would be that you choose attractive name and domain for your page to increase the traffic. After you've bought the space you are just few clicks away from becoming a part of Internet.
Congratulations! You've just made your first web page.
