Nowadays you can't seem to go anywhere without finding some gimmick telling you that "you can lose 15lbs in one week!" This would be fantastic if it were true, however the fact is most of these programs don't work. The gimmicks that cause you to lose weight fast typically just cause a severe state of dehydration. All the weight lost is water which will swiftly return to your body as soon as you stop the program. This is not going to allow you have any type of real success in your weight loss goals.
The truth behind weight loss is simple net calories burned must be greater than net calories consumed, a net calorie rule. Simple right? Your body like all other life is a biological system. This system has rules of how it operates and in order to get what you want from your body you have to follow those rules. From this we can say that you must follow the net calorie rule in order to achieve a true loss in weight. Dieting therefore becomes a simple matter of keeping track of your calories. While this may seem tedious and at times pointless it will ultimately allow you to conquer your weight problem.
In order to keep focused during your diet, you need to have goals set and you need to reach those goals. With a simple net calorie diet you can actually calculate exactly how much weight you will lose in an exact way. As a rule of thumb 5000 calories is approximately equal to 1 lb of body weight. So say you reduce your net calories by 500 per day you will lose one pound of your body mass in 10 days. While this may seem minimal, it will be a true weight loss and it will stay off, which is what we all want.
Now imagine adding exercise to the diet. You exercise enough to burn another 500 calories per day which will double your weight loss! I know that everyone is extremely busy and doesn't necessarily have time to be exercising in any extreme way every day, but simple changes in your day can qualify as exercise and allow you to burn those extra calories. Simple changes like taking the stairs as opposed to an elevator or escalator can help quite a bit. It won't take any extra time out of your day but you will reap the benefits in the long run.
Now you know that weight loss can be extremely simple. No expensive programs needed, all that you require you already have.
