There are some differences you should consider when writing religious articles compared to articles in other channels on Helium. You have to keep in mind, religion is a personal choice and although you believe your faith is the right one, you cannot force your views on others. It is best to present the information and let others decide for themselves.
*Information
Unless the title is a personal reflection you need factual information backed up with quotes from reliable sources. Internet sites of religious organizations are reliable sources of information. You may also need to research religious books and articles to find the information you need. If it is possible, obtain interviews from religious leaders to help your readers understand the deeper meaning of the topic.
*Relevance
Be sure to write your article so that it applies to the topic. Try to have several points, which are relevant and helpful to the reader. Explain in simple language anything that could be difficult for the reader to understand. When the topic could refer to several different religions, such as an article about God or Abraham, include as many views as possible.
*Respect and sensitivity
Especially for delicate subjects, you need to have respect for the opinions of the reader. This does not mean avoiding the hard issues, it means presenting all views and allowing the reader to make their own informed decision. Many people are extremely sensitive when it comes to some issues, such as euthanasia and abortion. Be tactful and do not write your article in a way that it would make the reader feel unresolved guilt. It is not your place to pass judgment. It may be that someone is reading your article because they, or a loved one, have been through such a traumatic event in their lives.
*Sincerity
You should have the desire to help people in their faith journey. You can accomplish this by providing information, for which they are seeking or which supports their belief. Many readers are unwavering in their own faith but are interested in understanding other faiths or are just curious and want to know more. Always present the truth as far as you are able to.
*Clear and concise
Be clear in your writing and take out repetitious and unnecessary words when editing and check spelling and grammar. Be sure to quote in context and include where you have taken the quote from, so the reader can read more if they want to.
Writing good religious articles on Helium can be rewarding, both spiritually and financially, to you, the reader and Helium. By taking care to respect the reader and provide relevant information, you have the opportunity to enrich the lives of others with faith.
