Novel Excerpts: Fate

Spinning the globe around in circles, I waited impatiently, my eyes searching the door every few minutes to see if he was coming. I didn't hear anything, the room was too silent for my tastes as my eyes now looked at the clock every two seconds. My pulse jumped when I heard a noise but it wasn't him. Where was he?

My frantic mind asked myself over and over again. I swallowed my worry as I continued to spin his globe, around and around it would spin landing at random destinations.
