Novel Excerpts: Fate
Spinning the globe around in circles, I waited impatiently, my eyes searching the door every few minutes to see if he was coming. I didn't hear anything, the room was too silent for my tastes as my eyes now looked at the clock every two seconds. My pulse jumped when I heard a noise but it wasn't him. Where was he?
My frantic mind asked myself over and over again. I swallowed my worry as I continued to spin his globe, around and around it would spin landing at random destinations. I closed my eyes sighing, my answer to his question still bubbling in my mind. My foot tapped as I began to become restless in my seat. Swallowing I heard the door slam open. My eyes shot up to see Professor Smith bustling in, an angry expression upon his face as he gazed at me his eyes dark and stormy as he feasted over my body.
“What is it that you want Miss. Summers? You've called me here to my own room you better have a good excuse as to why you've wanted to speak to me privately,” he growled as he came to tower over me. Frightened of him leaving again, I closed the distance between us, I put my head onto his chest, my hands sneaking around to hold him to me. He wouldn't touch me, his body stone stiff but I murmured the words I was terrified to say all along.
“I love you,” I whispered. I closed my eyes as tears came in a rapid flood session. Didn't he get that? I didn't want Nathan, I wanted him. Nathan was just my friend, he was a person I could talk to since Alexandria was now gone. I was at ease when I felt his arms circle around me, his lips pressing down against my curls to
