Mystery Lurks:
The moon was full tonight, the breeze terribly cold.
And as the leaves rustled in the trees, I couldn't help but feel so old.
My pulse thumped with each movement of approaching feet,
so I quickly ran to the maze; this bad omen I didn't want to meet.
I heaved a few breaths of air, trying to regain my breath,
if I didn't hurry up soon surely this would be my death.
My nose began to run as I twisted and turn in the maze,
if I wasn't smart enough, quick enough-I could be stuck here for days.
I heard the footsteps follow me they were rushing from behind,
and when I looked for the exit there was none to find.
I twirled around to meet my upcoming doom,
if I hadn't let this stranger in my life-I wouldn't be faced with this gloom.
With my hand pressed to my heart and stars before my eyes,
quite to my dismay I was in for a nasty surprise.

Poetry: Dark & lonely
Dark and lonely
The day turns into night.
Dark and lonely
My life turns into fright.
Dark and lonely
My thoughts I can not
Dark is my soul;
Alone, in the night, I prowl.
I yearn, I ponder, I seek
For someone who is not weak.
Why is it so difficult
Surrounded By Darkness
Light is everywhere
As I turn and stare,
But I remain
Surrounded by darkness.
Colors are all around
I fall into a hole, others standing above looking down.
They listen but cannot hear,
they look but cannot see.
I frown,
Softly, sadly moonlight streams
On a dark, dark woods of dreams
To subtly show
A flickering glow
Like candles held by ghosts
