Summer beauty tips

It’s 90 degrees in the shade, the local pool has opened for business and everyone smells of sunscreen. Well, it’s that time of the year again – summer. Upon the unfolding of a new season, you might find yourself desiring an updated look. Following are some beauty tips to help you look your best upon the arrival of this new season.

Self Tanner

It’s common knowledge that the sun’s rays can be quite harmful to your skin. Instead, this summer opt for a moisturizing self tanner. You can easily find such a product at your local drug store. Before you apply any self tanning lotion, make sure that you slough off your top layer of dead skin with a good exfoliant. Self tanners always adhere better and more evenly to healthy skin. Apply the tanner liberally to your arms, legs, face and anywhere else where you would like to add some color. Once you have achieved your desired shade, you will probably only need to apply the tanner once a week or so to maintain your shade.

Bronzing make up

Now that you have achieved the tan that you have been wanting, you could add a little flush to your face with bronzing make up. Again, you can find perfectly good bronzing make up at your local drug store. Bronzer usually comes in shades ranging from golden to copper. Select the shade that best coordinates with your skin tone. Make sure to apply the bronzer to all of your facial regions that receive the most sun. For example, brush the bronzer across the tops of your cheek bones and your eyelids. Bronzer really helps you to pull together that summer look.

Pedicure

Lastly, summer just isn’t summer without a good pedicure. If you are not willing to receive a pedicure professionally, you can complete the process from home. Simply soak your feet in warm water to loosen up any calluses or dead skin. Next, buff your calluses with a pumice stone. Scrub your feet with a salt scrub to remove any last traces of dead skin. Rinse your feet and dry them with a soft towel. Apply a good moisturizing crème to your feet to prevent dryness. Clip and file your toe nails before applying any polish. Select a summery shade of nail polish such as coral or bronze.

Now that you have altered your look for the new season, make sure to enjoy some summer activities such as swimming and surfing. Ensure that you apply a minimum of SPF 15 sunscreen before setting foot outside that door. Hopefully now you have the body, feet and face to tackle summer head on.
