Oh, Robert Frost and all of your natural cadences.
I understood you long ago in English class, but
I never knew the beauty you described until I awoke
One morning to find that the world was still dark
And the leaves still fell of the trees, but it was hard
To notice. It appeared as though the stars were still
Out and about, as if it were nighttime, but I knew this
To be a lie, so I cast aside all doubts of the morning.
I wish, however, that it was a starry night outside now
Because I remember the lines and rhymes and verses
That you mystified me with so much that day in class.
I look up your poetry every now and then, but it doesn't
Help me understand the morning I experienced long ago.
Please, won't you return to life and help me comprehend?

His home is six feet under though;
So he, at least, won’t think it queer
