Child of the Stars
After dark, when the night sky shines,
With millions of sparkling stars,
I open my eyes
And look at the skies;
Tonight I’ll return to Mars.
This red colour land really is home,
To dragons who breathe out fire.
So if you go there
Feel free to stare,
They’re lively, fun and don’t tire.
I met one once on my nightly travels,
He was trying to find his wife.
He made friends with me,
And I came to see
That dragons are part of my life.
I quickly skip over and on to Saturn,
To dance amongst its rings.
It is icy cold
But beautifully bold
And packed with dazzling things.
The Milky Way’s next on the journey tonight,
I see something new on my way.
A river of stars!
I put some in jars,
To show you the very next day.
The furthest I’ve got is on to Neptune,
Where I met the God of the Sea.
He lives out there,
With seaweed hair,
And asks after you and me.
One day when I’m a little bit older,
I will travel on through,
To further places
And meet new races
And share my stories with you.
The journey is ending just for tonight,
But there’s always another day.
A child of the stars,
Night holds no bars,
Tomorrow I’ll show you the way.
I’ve ridden the tails of shooting stars,
And even been to our sun.
Fantasy’s good
And everyone should,
Partake in this world of fun.
