If you are online right now pondering the right natural acne remedies then you may already have come across green tea acne treatments. Green tea has already been proven in many clinical studies to be a wonder tea, having the ability to increase metabolism and aid in weight loss but now it has been used in the remedy for acne spots with some pretty marvelous results. It has been shown to have the same positive effects as 4% solutions of another acne treatment – benzoyl peroxide but minus the dryness and other harsh effects that this well known acne treatment can have on the skin.
Although clinical tests during independent studies used green tea extract cream in green tea acne treatments, there is not always an abundance of this for acne sufferers to get their hands on. However, positive effects have been shown by simply using a green tea bag on the face or the tea used in an unfragranced face cream. Of course you can always use the marvelous green tea in a drink to have benefits on both the inside and the outside of the body and you may even find that this has more beneficial results, getting to the root of the problem so to speak and making sure that rather than reaching acne on a level that is just skin deep, there is a detoxifying effect for the whole body.
Green tea acne treatments are fast becoming rather popular within holistic healing and alternative healing and this is maybe due to the fact that it contains something called EGCG which not only aids in reducing redness of the skin but also helps to rejuvenate the skin cells once they have already been damaged by pimples and therefore giving the face a much smoother and clearer look and feel. A lot of acne sufferers have been advised to use green tea – first to drink it and then using the cooled tea bag to rub over the face. This works in much the same way as using chamomile tea bags on the eyes when they appear puffy and red.
Although many acne sufferers are warned to stay away from caffeine to prevent break outs, green tea acne treatments are not fermented after the picking stage to help in retaining the antioxidants that we find so beneficial. Of course, there are other kinds of tea that you can look to in the battle against acne such as nettle tea which boosts the circulation of the blood and to calm the pimples and also burdock tea.
Green tea acne treatments and indeed other forms of tea will not remove the acne pimples overnight but when used over a longer period of time can have drastic beneficial changes to the state of your skin. If all else has failed, you really have nothing to lose to check out some of the more natural acne treatments.
