Mmm, a lovely Kir cocktail...my rule with a well-made Kir is that if you don't love it, you have obviously never tried it! It is a refreshing and lovely drink that is very popular with women in particular because of its light sweetness and lower alcohol content - we women have to keep that in mind! The Creme de Cassis provides a dark, fruity flavor that makes it a huge hit, and the white wine keeps it classy and elegant. Served with a twist of lemon peel, this cocktail is sure to impress.

CLASSIC KIR RECIPE

Simple and sweet, a wonderful summer drink. It is a perfect cocktail to serve at a party that will keep everyone happy and relaxed without going overboard with the alcohol.

INGREDIENTS

6 oz dry white wine

1 tbls Creme de Cassis

2-3 ice cubes

Twist of lemon peel

DIRECTIONS

In a large wine glass, combine white wine, Creme de Cassis, and ice cubes. Garnish with the twist of lemon peel.

KIR ROYALE

A Kir Royale is an elegant drink, boosting it from a simple cocktail to a wonderful way to toast a special occasion. Anything looks prettier with champagne, as I always say!

INGREDIENTS

1 part Creme de Cassis

5 parts chilled champagne

DIRECTIONS

In a champagne flute, pour the Creme de Cassis, then fill to the top with champagne.

KIR MARTINI

This drink is a classy way to top off a night. It is a lovely twist on a traditional martini. Served in a martini glass, it looks great and tastes even better.

INGREDIENTS

7 parts gin 

2 parts extra dry vermouth

1 parts Creme de Cassis

Twist of lemon

DIRECTIONS

In a shaker full of ice, shake all ingredients until well frosted. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a twist of lemon.
