What is love? It's an adjective a verb, a noun. Just a word- it has no real meaning; love cannot be considered a single feeling. It's a feeling of such magnitude that it cannot be epitomized in one word because it's so different for everyone. It's a phenomenon- philosophers, writers, poets- no one has ever been able to sum up the meaning of love and as far as I know, no one ever will- which is probably for the best because, if everyone were able to interpret love, where would the mystery and romance go- it would be like fashion- it would simply disappear and the vogue would die away. Then life would be boring.
Love can make you happy, it can push away all of the darkness from your life and it can turn your life around for the better. George Sand said: 'There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.' It can be for you the most astounding emotion you will ever feel and it can make you the happiest person alive.
Love can also destroy you, it can bring you down to the very depths and never will you resurface. It is true it will be the death of us all but whether you die in happiness or in severe depression on the matter. When it comes down to it all all life is is a very long search for love, to be happy to be satisfied. Whatever else comes with it is a bonus. George Bernard Shaw noted that: "Love is a gross exaggeration of the difference between one person and everybody else." Love never has and never will be simple it will always be the bane of us.
Of all the emotion that we humans possess and can express, love is the only one that can't be coped with- you can be the strongest person possible (emotionally) and love will manage to put you onto your arse. Depite the simplicity of the word it is the most complex most potent of feelings and if you're not careful you msy fall into it, and quite possible out of it and into it and out of it. Love is great. Love hurts!
