The World Today

The world today, is a terrible place.
What has happened to the American race?
Drugs and violence are now filling our streets.
The playground, has become a place for the drug dealers to meet.
Millions of predators just waiting to strike.
Is this what the world has always been like?
A place where poor people’s dreams and lives are shattered.
Simply because they didn’t have enough money to matter.

Were innocent children always being murdered and raped?
Was it always that easy for the villains to escape?
Our War heroes are now homeless, with nowhere to go.
What put them there? We may never know.
How did this world make a turn for the worst?
Has everyone forgotten the bible, and it's verse?
Gangs and mobs killing everyday.
Putting the law in their pockets, and walking away.
Is their no justice left in this world?
Why don't the crooks ever get what they deserve?
Disease's are being spread, that have no cure.
Or do they? We'll never be sure.
The economy is plummeting all around.
People are starving, with no jobs to be found.
Everything goes up, yet the wages stay the same.
We are all just pawns,  in a political game.
The government making excuses for killing our men.
Sending them to die, for this world we live in.
For, the high officials, don’t suffer, so what do they care.
About the millions of citizens in need everywhere.
They sleep warm and cozy, wrapped up in their beds.
When the shelters are being overwhelmed, by so many underfed.
Health care is an issue many can’t afford.
They suffer in silence, as death kicks in their door.
Since when has poverty, become a crime?
This has become a world, I’m ashamed to call mine.
I guess it’s true, what they say these days?
You have to be rich, to survive the world today.
