A friendship sparked
Through shared conversation
Each talk was anticipated
With excitement and elation
Friendship began to change
Into kindness and care
A bond began to blossom
Until love filled the air
Beaches and sands
Picnics and kisses
Dreams of the future
And lots of 'I miss yous'
Distance made visits few
Sometimes far in between
Yet love still blossomed
Like flowers on the green
Bursting with color over the years
Many good times and bad
Throughout the turbulence
Both held onto the love they had
A long ago fondness
Blossomed over time
Grew into mature love
That rings with melodic chime

You're secrets revealed one petal at a time.
Sun breaks and you open to me, still dewy
