How to craft gold necklaces in Runescape

Whether adding a little bling to your character or making some extra coinage to purchase that next best piece of armor or weapon crafting gold necklaces is a useful skill to acquire and use. You first need to know a few details before beginning the pursuit of the gold necklace.

Mining is the first skill you will need to develop. To mine gold requires level 40. The best place to accomplish this is in the desert just north of Al Kharid where there is quite a selection of different mineral to choose from, I recommend coal, tin, copper, and iron which I will explain later. When you have filled your sack with mineral you can then run into Al Kharid to either bank your haul or go directly to the furnace for smelting, smelting first then depositing your bars is probably more efficient. Once you have deposited your precious bars in the bank it is back to the mines with you for more backbreaking work. Patience is require to get yourself to level 40, you will spend long hours hammering away at rocks and competing for mining space as other players can take the mineral from your rock before you do and then you will have to wait for the regeneration period, for the higher level elements such as coal and gold it takes longer.

Now that you have reached level 40 in mining you should be getting closer to level 40 with the Smithing skill since you have been smelting bars from your labors and depositing them in the bank. If you have not yet reached Smithing level 40 continue mining and smelting. If you have been mining the none precious metals as I recommended then you can walk to Varrock to begin your smithing. The bank and the forge are across the street from each other at the east end of town. Fill your sack with as many bars as you can walk into the forge an hammer away. The more advanced the object the faster your experience points will accumulate. Once you have emptied your sack of bars and replaced it with armor and weapons walk to the general mercantile and sell the items to the shop keeper. This will add a little additional coinage to your growing wealth. Continue this process until you have reach Smithing level 40. Warning, you may need to mine some more before getting there.

The next and last skill you will need to develop is the Crafting skill. All you need is level 6 to begin making gold necklaces. You can accomplish this by killing off a few cow by Lumbridge and having them tanned in Al Kharid then making many pairs of gloves and boots. The merchant in Al Kharid will buy them from you to add to your wealth.

Okay, now you have enough experience and skill to make gold necklaces. You will first need to mine some gold, again I recommended the desert just north of Al Kharid, there are two rocks with gold in them at the entrance to the mine, competition can be rather stiff here for the precious metal. You can then take your precious raw material and forge it into bars in town. You will need, at this point, to acquire a mold for necklaces. The surest and fastest way to do this is buying it straight from a crafting shop, there is one located in Rimmington. After all this you only need to get yourself back to a furnace, Lumbridge, Al Kharid, and Faldor all have one. Select a gold bar from your sack and then click on the furnace, a dialog box will appear asking you what you want to make, select the necklace.

You have now made a gold necklace choose to wear it for that extra blink effect of take it to the mercantile and sell it. The gold necklace is worth 180 gold pieces. I should point out, however, that the greater the number of gold necklaces in the possession of the store the less value you will get from the shop keep.
