When you are talking about getting employees to do the job, what are you going to offer to make employees feel like the job is worth doing? There are many incentives that you can offer an office employer to make sure that they are going to go beyond expectations to do a great job. Sometimes you need to offer incentives to really get employees involved in a new initative that the company really wants to roll out in full force.
So what do you give employees to do a great job? You could offer some blanket incentives, but the best incentives are the ones where the employees feel like they are getting the best benefit. While offering a free soda or bag of chips might seem like a great incentive, it might not always do the trick. It really depends on what the job is and how much effort your expect the employees to put in.
If you are asking for an increase in sales, you might allow an employee to choose to have some paid time off as a reward for making the target. Maybe you allow the employee to take one full day off with pay, or maybe even make their own schedule for the day or week. Perhaps you allow the employees to save money and avoid the commute by being allowed to work at home for a little bit.
If you are asking for an outreach to your customers, it might take some sort of other incentive. Maybe you offer a cash bonus for an employee who informs the most customers about the new brand of soda coming out, or signs up the most new customers to the insurance plan that you are trying to sell to the public. Money is always a great incentive to employees to do well.
Say you have a few motivated employees who are eager to move up in the company. Assign them to separate teams, and the team that does the best gets a really special prize. The team that wins sees its leader get a promotion. The competition will show who has loyalty of the workers in the office and who can do the best job promoting the sales and company goals.
Offering incentives to your employees usually helps them do the best job they can do. Offering cash or time off will motivate your employees to do even more than what they might usually do. Different perks work for different people, but they usually will improve motivation.
