I have read many reviews on here about Benefit products and in particular Benetint and Posietint. So having recently finished my normal blusher I decided that I would give them a try. Benetint and Posietint are very similar products being a dual action product that works as a lip colour and a cheek colour, Benetint is a red colour and Posietint is a pink colour. I decided as I am quite pale skinned to opt for the Posietint.
Benefit describe this as "the cheekiest flush you can get from a bottle" and that it will make you the "prettiest bloom in the bunch". So does it do what it says?
Posietint comes in small glass bottle which is stored inside a little cardboard box. The box is very pretty and girly in pale pink with flowers on it. The bottle looks very much like a bottle of nail varnish and has a screw top lid. It is quite funky with a metallic pink colour and a white lid. Unscrewing the lid reveals a little brush just like a nail varnish brush and the bright pink liquid. Seeing this for the first time worried me slightly as it does look like nail varnish. Thankfully though it doesn't smell like nail varnish! To be honest it doesn't really have much of a scent.
The bottle holds 12.5ml and retails for around £22.50. I thought this was quite expensive so I opted to buy a new bottle from ebay for £9 including postage.
Instructions are simply to brush three strokes of the product on the apple of your cheeks and blend in quickly using your fingertips. To apply on your lips just dot on and then blend with your fingertips. You can reapply if you want a stronger colour.
I was a bit worried how natural it would look as to begin with it looks really pink! The first time I used it I rubbed it quite well in and then looked in the mirror, my cheeks looked rather red but I think I had rubbed to vigourously! The redness went away quickly and I was left with natural pink cheeks.
I really like this product, although I have used it occasionally on my lips I tend to use it on my cheeks and am really pleased with the result. I tend to only use two strokes and only small strokes otherwise I think it is too much. Its really a case of experimenting to see what suits your skin tone best.
It gives a really natural pink colour, almost as if you have been outside in the fresh air. I like the way it looks, it is so much more natural looking that some blushers and it makes me look so much more healthier. I will continue to use this bottle and when it finishes I would be tempted to buy some more although I think I will try and buy it again cheaper on ebay as I think £22.50 is quite a lot to pay.
