Poetry: I love you

by Paul Roe

Created on: March 30, 2010

No more about love now,
I barely know of it anyway;
Though I cannot see you
Or hear you or feel you,
You are mine and I yours;

I will slave to you
If you but serve me;
Anything I will do
If you but swerve me
To the truth you hold
And form and destroy
Like water in old earth.

Original, unchartered lands
You have wrought that I explore,
And I, in turn, carry you
And love you most,
Hold you above the fires that burn,
Bear you to heaven
On the back of my ghost;

I will not leave you when
Eagerly searching ahead in
The realm you have made,
But, once it is there,
In all its beauty,
I will explore it slowly,
With you on my back,
Gazing over each
Magnificent terrain.
