Being one of the top platformers for the Playstation 2, Ratchet & Clank are one of the better PS2 games giving you a satisfied feeling when done with the game. Almost anybody will or should love this game. There seems not to be any flaws about this game other than the inability to strafe. If you like lighthearted games or even just games in general, this is definitely one game you should take a look at.

Everything about this game seems to be perfectly intact. The story, graphics, controls, music, pretty much anything you can think of. It's not very hard to get addicted to this game once you've started. The story seems to be top notch and around 15 hours or more if you want to finish it completely.

One thing that is interesting about this game is that as it progressively gets more difficult the bolts you earn from killing enemies becomes more in quantity. Bolts are a currency in the game for purchasing weapons/ammo. They can be found just about anywhere you roam; crates, destroyable objects, and enemies carry bolts on them.

Basically, Ratchet is working on his spaceship when Clank, who escapes from a robot factory where he wasn't made as he was designed to be and warns him that Drek is out to destroy many planets for his own profit. As you progress through the story, you can really get absorbed into what's going on.

The soundtracks also prove to be very catchy. Depending on which world you land on, that soundtrack plays and it goes quite well with the background. There's a certain feel to every place you go to because of the soundtrack. Some planets even have that type of music which will give you a creepy feeling or relaxing feel.

For a very old PS2 game, the graphics are actually very good. The frame rate runs smoothly, but at the same time the picture is crisp and looks great. It's a wonder how they managed to do this while still having everything else above average.

This is the oldest, but best Ratchet & Clank game there is. Unfortunately, the PS3 entries seem to be below average and aren't nearly as good as the PS2 versions. If you are considering one of the Ratchet & Clank games, definitely get this one. For around $15, you can't go wrong for a game like this.
