As the weather warms up, there is no doubt there will be new employment opportunities available to those who wish to work in the great outdoors. A variety of employment fields are now hiring for seasonal, part, and full-time positions. Northern California is already seeing an increase of job opportunities in several fields!
Working for the National Parks or local Parks and Recreation pays wells and can be a very rewarding career. This time of year brings possibilities of employment in trades such as landscaping and maintenance. Taking care of the parks requires a variety of skills such as lawn and trail maintenance, ability to repair and perform upkeep on buildings and fixtures, and aptitude to identify and rectify safety issues. These jobs are for those who enjoy the outdoors and can appreciate a variety of tasks. Other positions within the Parks and Recreations will include: Park Rangers, scheduling coordinators, and janitorial technicians. All are equal opportunity employment opportunities as well.
Amusement centers and water parks hire many for the seasonal positions which become available in the weeks before opening day. There literally thousands of positions to choose from in and around the San Francisco Bay area! The opportunities are endless with this type of work. Depending upon talents and skill level, one could serve food or perform critical repairs on rides that are hundreds of feet tall! These companies are hiring for customer service, sales, maintenance, marketing, ride operations, etc. The list of needed skills is endless and scheduling for these types of positions are usually much more flexible than most.
The Feds have made millions in funds available for planning and implementing projects which are considered "green". This means that construction companies will be needing those with operating skills for heavy equipment. This also means labor jobs will become abundant as more and more groundbreakings occur this year. These green projects will also require those who have specialized skills in electrical and engineering trades, and those who have a working knowledge of solar and wind technologies.
Many of the latest infrastructure projects are also implementing greener policies. The great thing here is that there are not only green projects, but heavier infrastructure constructions being funded by both public (government), and private
